Problem/Motivation
The user interface for interface translation now saves all translations entered as custom to the site. It may be desirable to not do this in all cases, when the entered translation is fixing a hole in the community translation but not meant to be a final protected translation. If the community comes up with something better, it should still be updated.
Proposed resolution
This may be a contrib feature with the remote translation submission module (l10n_client), so when the translation is submitted remote, it can be recorded as non-custom. The UI elements to expose this selection on each translation input may be too much noise on the page.
Remaining tasks
Figure out what we want, if anything in core.
User interface changes
TBD.

smustgrave commentedThank you for creating this issue to improve Drupal.
We are working to decide if this task is still relevant to a currently supported version of Drupal. There hasn't been any discussion here for over 8 years which suggests that this has either been implemented or is no longer relevant. Your thoughts on this will allow a decision to be made.
Since we need more information to move forward with this issue, the status is now Postponed (maintainer needs more info). If we don't receive additional information to help with the issue, it may be closed after three months.
Thanks!

gábor hojtsyThis was posted as an idea 12 years ago, then nobody jumped on it or expressed a need, so I think it is safe to consider this not needed :)
