With reference to https://drupal.org/node/2064915, It would better if your module can add a new block to change the password. This will reduce the end user's pain in moving to pages and then changing the same.

Please do have a look at my sandbox project and let me know in case of any further input needed from my site.

I would like to see this feature as well. If you are still interested the next step would be to submit your sandbox project in the form of a patch for this module.
