SearchAPI CODE SPRINT on 21st Nov 2013 in VIENNA

After talking to drunken_monkey he suggested why we SearchAPI-using Devs wouldn't get together to a CODE SPRINT to get the D8 version of search_api moving. Since it makes sense to attach that to some Drupal event, and drunken_monkey as well as Drupal Camp Vienna are both in the beautiful city of Vienna in the middle of Europa around the 21st of Nov (Thu), let's take that as the date and place (sadly drunken_monkey is himself not able to attend the camp).

So, what do you think about a SearchAPI Code Sprint?

Are you joining?

Any reasons to not go with the usual sprint dates of the camp? See http://2013.drupalcamp.at/sprints

This is not entirely true, I'll probably be there on Friday – but I won't be there for the rest of the camp. (Which should also answer your question, Wolfgang.)

In any case, a code sprint might really be a good idea, if at least a few developers are able to join in. I actually hope that the D8 version of the Search API (and maybe also D8 core) will be already usable by that time, so we would be able to focus on architectural decisions and changes for the project.
Of course, if the Search API is ready by then, it would also be a great opportunity to start porting your own related modules, with live assistance from others.

Also, if you want to come but Nov 21 doesn't work for you: the date isn't fixed at all, we can do this at almost any time. Just comment.

Due to the lack of response on this code sprint issue and myself being loaded with work in November, i suggest we look for an alternative date.

Probably not … (Though we then had several other great sprints – in Szeged, Zürich, Belgium and Amsterdam.)
