I am currently running a survey to assess the usage of the D7 extensions https://survey.zohopublic.com/zs/tQDrkO

Please feel free to discuss, make suggestions and push your own agenda even, I need to know what you want, what concerns you and your site builds.

I'll need to factor in all feedback in and asses code maintainability for the D8 version. Certainly some of the bigger more used extensions are staying, heres a basic overview and thoughts at this stage:

Fonts:
Staying but probably simplified. Most users indicate the use these to style heading and almost nothing else. The most popular font type is Google fonts with 80% of users, the rest use web safe and only a few are using custom font stacks and @font-your-face.

Image Alignment and Captions:
Lots of users indicate they use this extensions. I am unsure about it, something like this would be so much more powerful and useful if you could set it within field settings for each image field. Maybe we can look at replacing this with a module?

Markup Overrides:
Big one here - some will go away (not required in D8) and some will stay. I need to do a proper audit and report back.

Mobile Menus:
Honestly I want to remove this. There are some really good modules now for doing this stuff and I would rather help those module developers perfect their modules, also this is really hard to do in a very generic way. It takes a lot of code to make it work, it shouldn't be this hard and and I think a D8 module could really be a preferred approach here.

Float Region Blocks:
Again, not sure, I know its very useful for some users. The essential problem is getting the breakpoints - honestly the CSS is really so simple I think this could be replaced with good documentation.

Mobile Regions:
I will probably move this into a module, if one has not already been built we can leverage. Again the issue is getting breakpoints and doing this reliably in a theme.

Closing this for now, in due course (soon) I will write documentation and produce video guides for all new extensions in D8 Adaptivetheme.
