There is a problem with the Field Collection module when used with Workbench Moderation. If I updated a Field Collection and view the node and that field collection is being displayed on the page through a View before the new version of the node is published, I always see the most recent version of the field collection -- the instance that is still under review. I'm wondering if your module will solve that. Here's the case that discusses:

"I don't believe the module will help out in this case. Views Field Join Node Revision is only for index optimization in Views queries between field_* and node_revision."
