just an FYI-- but elf isn't abandoned. I had been given maintainership a few months ago but had my priorities reshuffled and didn't get around to committing anything.

I just made a test commit of some minor coder review corrections and I still have maintainership, so I'll take it out of abandoned status. I'm hoping to get the issue queue cleared out and point releases done this week.
