Hi,

This is going to sound like a stupid question, but once the module is enabled how do I go about using it to edit and add nodes in a modal window?

Yeah, that is not well documented yet.

In each module file you find a short description.

As Example:
<a href="/modal/node/NID/nojs" class="ctools-use-modal">View</a>.

Replace the "NID" with a node ID and the modal windows loads the node with the given ID.

Edit is nearly the same, but take a look at the module files, you fine examples in the files.
