The recommended library no longer exists. The project page links to plupload.com/downloads/plupload_1_5_7.zip -- this has been replaced with https://github.com/moxiecode/plupload/archive/1.5.7.zip
HOWEVER -
The file structure of the github archive is different than what is expected. Files are located in libraries/plupload/src/javascript instead of libraries/plupload/js
I tried updating plupload.module to fix the locations of files but it appears more than just locations have changed as plupload is not loading correctly.

saltednutI did find https://github.com/downloads/moxiecode/plupload/plupload_1_5_4.zip as the latest download released from github and this library is working.

saltednutA new release, 1.5.8 was posted to github that contains only the necessary files, following the correct structure.
I have tested this release and can confirm it is working.

slashrsm commentedREADME.txt updated and new release rolled to include latest docs. There is issue about 2.x support, but it didn't get much momentum yet (#2098555: Make compatible with plupload version 2.1.9).
