install errors

After installing 7.x-1.2 to D7.24 (using the install from link method) got the following error(s):

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in form_type_checkboxes_value() (line 2295 of /home/example/public_html/includes/form.inc).

After running the module config, selecting and saving content types to which it should apply, the above error stopped, but the following 2nd error then appeared.

Warning: array_filter() expects parameter 1 to be array, null given in printfriendly_admin_settings() (line 33 of /home/example/public_html/sites/all/modules/printfriendly/printfriendly.admin.inc).

After adding permissions to additional roles beyond those in the default module install, the second error also stopped.
