I first thought it's because the field has no "NO RESULTS BEHAVIOR" config options.
But then i saw, that other cols get hidden without setting anything on the corresponding fields, so it might be a different reason.

Would be handy to hide the col. with the links for users that don't have the permissions.

I'm getting the same issue as well. It looks like the bug hasn't been solved yet. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I can confirm the problem. Global:Contextual links field creates a small empty column.
