If I set path node/* to appear in overlay, Overlay Paths interfere with Edit module and make it's "Quick edit" contextual link not appear. Please look at enclosed screenshots to see what I mean.

What version of jquery are you using? I've noticed a jquery problem when using v. greater than 1.7. (I haven't submitted an issue yet: I still need to test this in a clean install first.)
