Drupal messages not shown after form submit

I used this module to put user login form in my menu. What happens is when user is not successful with the login, the error message is not shown after refresh (in fact, it appears after second refresh). The problem here is that the block is injected in the menu link in a theme function which is too late for messages to be shown. See my patch for easy fix - I moved the block loading/rendering part to the hook_translated_menu_link_alter and problem is solved.
