I am volunteering a web site for a local mental health drop in center self help organization.

They are a real nonprofit and require free web hosting - I could keep them parked in a subdomain on my server, I'd feel better having them independent.

The site is already built, I don't need design or development, just good clean hosting with a commitment to progressive ideals and community. Yes, the site is Drupal 6.2

Some companies I am considering:

Grassroots.org

Sounds good, they are the only one that refers to Drupal hosting on the front page

ambitious lemon (www.ambitiouslemon.com)

I really like their community-support mission

ThinkHost (www.thinkhost.com)

Good features, say they're progressive

free domain would be nice, I could probably contribute the fee for the first year if necessary

anticipating relatively small bandwidth requirements, but this is one of 27 centers under the CSPNJ network in NJ and I anticipate that once the Jersey City web site is up, the other centers will want to jump on the bandwagon (thank the powers that be for multisite and virtual sites!)

any reports, suggestions etc would be appreciated

Well being that I work for Grassroots.org I am not going to pretend to be unbiased....However, our hosting is free forever as long as you are a 501c3 non-profit and comes with 24/7 Phone assistance--one of the most used features by our clients. It is also provided by Tierra.net which is a high end hosting company that prides itself in no down time, etc. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about Grassroots.org and the services we provide.

Thank you, Sura

We have already decided to apply to Grassroots.org, the application is with the administration

They are thrilled with the web site and can't believe the community features possible with Drupal - they are like kids in a candy store, it's very gratifying

I'll be sure to keep you posted
