Dries wants us to upload videos, as said in the State of (the) Drupal (Union).

gregglesWe'll also need to increase the size of uploads allowed (currently 1MB) and probably total size allowed per user (currently 10MB).
Doc maintainer and site maintainer: 5MB / 10MB
I propose that we allow up to 4MB per upload for authenticated users with 20MB total and 20MB per upload for Docs maintainers with 100MB total limit.

silverwing CreditAttribution: silverwing commentedDoes Dries still want this? Or should this be postponed until docs.drupal.org gets going as it seems that would be a better place to allow upload of movies?

mitchell CreditAttribution: mitchell commentedDespite the lack of activity in this issue, there's likely a wide-spread interest in making video tutorials and presentations more accessible, particularly from those connected to the Help and Curated/Official Documentation System initiative.
It will be a large project and probably require an initiative of its own under Upgrading Drupal.org to Drupal 7, but for other current ambitious initiatives, see Roadmap for porting Project* to D7 and Groups.Drupal.org Update: New maintainers and plans for Drupal 7.

Changing title to reflect #3. Not a small change, I realize.
Reactivating re: #4, because that initiative is well underway, and they're non-blocking.
Here's the info I had to look up to look up to figure out where this issue stands since docs.drupal.org doesn't exist:

jhodgdonSo, this issue is very old, and a few things above may be misleading:
- It is doubtful that we are going to have a docs.drupal.org ever, or at least in the near future.
- We don't any longer have a "docs maintainer" role on d.o with increased upload permissions.
- I don't know who connected to the Help and Curated Docs initiative you think has wide-spread intreest in making more video tutorials available, but speaking for myself it is not a very high priority (as compared to getting better written documentation at least).
- Subsites in general are not supported widely by the d.o infrastructure team lately.
Just a few thoughts...
