Attached patch has 3 new things:
- It does not check for arg(1) to load the user, but makes the sms_user_settings a bit more flexible as it will accept any user you throw at it. This will make the module work together with the me module
- It adds a block that shows the Mobile Settings form. This will encourage even more users to provide their mobile number.
- It shows a drupal_set_message when the number is confirmed.
Hope it can be included in a next release.

univate commentedI have created a patch for the current 2.x-dev at #821176: don't use arg() to get uid, instead add uid value to the form
