The hook_menu() description for XML Sitemap module's main configuration page currently says "Configure the XML sitemaps" which can probably be improved upon :)

Here is a description which tries to better explain why someone might want to click on this amidst a sea of other admin links. (Chris Brookins wrote 90% of this text and gets credit for it; I just modified it a little and made it into a patch.)

Drop the word "important". It indexes all pages important or not unless you've chosen to exclude them.

Search engines do that (they find whatever they find), but XML Sitemap doesn't. It exists to promote and highlight only certain pages on the site. By default it puts almost nothing in there.

How about "Configure your site's XML sitemap(s) to help search engines easily find and index pages on your site."?

OK, here it is as a patch, though I left off the parentheses around the "s" and also removed the word "easily" (since hopefully that is implied :)

I think it's pretty good, although somewhat unfortunate to use the word "site" twice in the same sentence...

Yeah, but at least it's better than the current description. :)

The last submitted patch, xmlsitemap-menu-description-834754-5.patch, failed testing.

I think that test failure must be a preexisting one...
