how to keep menu active

Taxonomy Menu 6.x-2.8

I have a taxonomy menu that links to a view with default path. In the view I am using the taxonomy menu tid as an argument, and have multiple pages, each with different view arguments, each assigned to a tab. All of this works great, the tabs show up when i click on the particular taxonomy menu entry and each tab reflects each view page. except that the taxonomy menu is only visible and active for the default tab and disappears on any of the other tabs. i cant figure out how to keep the taxonomy active and displayed when i click on the additional tabs

the default tab path is taxonomy/term/26, the menu is visible.
the additional tabs are of path taxonomy/term/26/popular, taxonomy/term/26/hot, ...etc, the menu disappears.
