JacobSingh commentedI agree with putting it back to From URL (kinda, still sucks but if we aren't doing embed codes, it's okay). Would be fun to A/B test that. It's one of those funny questions where people like us would never use web so generally, but most people on the internet don't know what a URL is. Correctness vs common usage.
My only nit here is the "providers below" text. We should only be showing this if have providers, right? Should I re-roll with that change?
Best,
Jacob

effulgentsia commentedWould be good to get more community feedback on this. I think WordPress calls the 3 tabs for their media browser "From Computer", "From URL", and "From Library".
If you're adding media to a Drupal site from another site, I sure hope you know what a URL is. But maybe that's an unreasonable hope.
Good catch. +1.

brunodboFunny, I was happy to see 'From URL' change to 'From web' when I last updated my media.module install, since I think it's a reasonable change to make for most end-users.
Question:
Reading the textfield's description, it seems the textfield is meant to handle embed codes? Anyway, in case of embed codes, I believe the tab should say 'From web'.

effulgentsia commentedI wonder if there's an answer to this somewhere in the 100+ comments thread #491258: Create issues for UI decisions reached, but not yet implemented. If someone finds it, please post it here.
dave reidI think I'm still in favor of making this change from 'Web' to 'URL'.

dddave commentedAre you still planning on changing this? I personally do like "Web" but I wouldn't mind a change. However we might need to overthink the tab situation in general. Currently the "youtube" tabs list existing vids from youtube but my gut-feeling is that people who want to embed a youtube video are going to use this tab first. This might have to be handled by media_youtube but sure need to be kept in mind when thinking over the tab-situation in general.
