I'm getting this message in my log very frequently from mollom.

Invalid UTF-8 in form values
Data:
@data

Can anyone tell me what this might mean and how i can fix it? Sorry for the amateur question. Thank you!

This means that someone (most likely a spambot) attempted to post values to your site, containing invalid UTF-8 bytes.

Such values would normally only be stored by Drupal, but never output. They would also be stripped off and thus missing in the module's communication with the Mollom servers.

Therefore, the Mollom module blocks all form submissions that contain invalid UTF-8. The form submission attempt is logged for informational purposes only, so you should be safe to ignore those log messages.

However, "@data" should actually be replaced with the posted values of the attempted form submission. Is it always @data, or do you sometimes see some information instead of @data?

Yes the error message always reports "@data".

Spam and ham messages print the actual data being blocked or allowed... so it seems that mollom is working correctly overall? It's just a bit annoying to have my logs flooded with this error.

Finally figured it out. For now, only documented as @todo in the code, commenting out the @data placeholder.

The last submitted patch, mollom.utf8-log.4.patch, failed testing.

This patch looks good to me.

I'm trying to figure out how and if we're ever going to resolve the @todo. I'm not sure we will or have to. Hence, make it is OK to just remove the @todo?
