I have enabled captcha for the comment form but it is not showing. Anyone else have this issue? It does work for registration and contact form. Thank you.

The form id for comment forms has changed in D7 and depends now on the node type.
Which form ID did you put the CAPTCHA on?
It should be something like "comment_node_page_form" for page node types. The old "comment_form" is not used anymore.

Same problem here. With a fresh Drupal 7.0-beta3 install and only the CAPTCHA beta module installed, there's no image display nor math challenge for the comment form.

soxofaan, that's not how it's appearing on my site, I simply have a comment_form selection... see attached. Thanks.

On my side the value is correct (see attached). However it seems like we have the same problem with a different manifestation...

@coolfiretech: I guess you upgraded from Drupal 6 or installed an early Drupal 7 version? Anyway: the form_id "comment_form" is useless in Drupal 7, you can remove it from the list on the CAPTCHA settings page. Use a form id like 'comment_node_page_form' or 'comment_node_article_form' (for page nodes and article nodes respectively) instead.

The attached patch fixes this is the installation procedure by adding the form_ids for all the node types used by the site. To test/use this: disable CAPTCHA module, uninstall CAPTCHA module, patch the CAPTCHA module and reinstall.

@anavarre: you indeed have a different problem and I'm afraid discussing it here will make this thread very confusing. Please open a separate issue if possible. But just one thing: do you have caching enabled?

anavarre’s picture

@soxofaan Alright i'll open a separate issue. I have caching enabled but I remember deleting all caches for test. I don't know if it helps...

soxofaan, you are correct this site was started with D7 beta2 and updated. I will apply the patch and report back. Thanks again.

I had the same problem. soxofaan gave me the solution. You have to add the comment-form for the article (only for the node it is already available). Many people need the captcha on the article-form and have to manually add that. This is not a bug, but a critical design issue in my eyes (to be solved within the CAPTCHA-Module). Steps:
* Go to the captcha-configuration
* and add: comment_node_article_form
in the last line with the captcha-type that you want
* Save the configuration (otherwise it will be lost)

... see screen attached.

Should be fixed by http://drupal.org/cvs?commit=471854, which is included in the freshly released CAPTCA 7.x-1.0-alpha2.

One note however in case you worked with CAPTCHA 7.x-1.0.-alpha1 or a dev-release from before December 31 2010: upgrading to CAPTCHA 7.x-1.0-alpha2 does not work (no upgrade path) and will result in database error messages. You should first uninstall the old version and install 7.x-1.0-alpha2 like a fresh module.

i cant add to the comments while using the D7 version of 7.x-1.x-dev. Using the lines of comment_node_article_form & comment_form. I thought for sure this version would have the comments as a selection w/out having to add the comment code. thanks.
