gallery formatter and white space issue (with pictures)

okies so i am using gallery formatter on this site im working on with this wonderful theme. but gallery formater will not alighn to the center or left in the block... its slightly off to the right. now from what I understand (wich isnt much) the white space is created when the image field is used in a node and reserved for the image... but im using gallery formater... so thats a no go. trying to think my way around this... i figured if I aded a regular image field aling with the field for the gallery formatter it would put the plain image in its sapce (as it has for my nodes w/out gallery formatter) but no go... it just puts it under gallery formatter... although it does place that image to the left. i also tried re arranging the fields... nope... chuck testa.
