This module adds additional layouts for Display Suite. The extra layouts are more reusable than the custom layouts because it is packaged as a module. Since these layouts are provided as a module there is no dependency on the active theme. It also allows for a site builder or theme developer to more quickly use a layout that better fits the need of their project. This does not completely eliminate the need for a custom DS layouts, however, it does reduce the it.
If you are using Bootstrap you’ll want to use Display Suite Bootstrap Layouts instead of this module.
If you are using Panels you might consider using Panels Extra Layouts.

Installation
Install this module as you would any other contributed module. Once enabled you will find the extra layouts available in the same place you find all the default Display Suite layouts. This module does not provide any additional UI, it only contains layouts.
