Database configuration

I have windows XP and I installed WAMP5, so I have appache, PHP 5 and MySQL is running. I typed http://localhost/drupal-5.2/install.php and reached database configuration.

I fill up the form, database name and user name:root and password for database. Then I got the following notice/warning. Then I typed the same URL address then I got "Drupal installation complete".

website creation

Hi,
I'm looking for a CMS which has a module or option for users to create their own websites after they register, and which is also able to add a sub-domain for the particular user, i.e. newuser.domain.com.

Does Fusion offer anything like this?

thanks

Adding multiple blog entries in main page (index)

I was wondering if there was a way for a homepage to show two drupal entries at once side by side. I was planning on blogging on one side and having a photo area on the other.

I would greatly appreciate any help, I attached an image for reference.

customizable user pages ("dashboard" or panels type)

hi,

i'm looking for a way to do customizable dashboard pages kind of like google apps dashboards - i.e. not only to be able to add & remove blocks of content, but also to be able to move blocks around through drag&drop and have block preferences.

would the panels module be a good place to start and how much custom coding does it take?

has anyone gone this route? any pointers to share?

thanks

What's the differences between drupal 4.x and 5.x?

What's the differences between drupal 4.x and 5.x? Are they only designed for different PHP version?

And will 6.x support php4 and mysql 4.0.x?

HOWTO Screencast

* How To Install (L)AMP & Drupal on Ubuntu

Manual Instructions

Ubuntu Server Edition provides a server set up right out of the box. It is perfect for anything from sandboxing on an old PC, to full blown servers.

Option 1: Manual Setup

If using the Desktop Edition you will need to install the packages for Apache2, MySQL and PHP using either Synaptic or from the command line with apt-get. Here is a link to the Ubuntu documentation tutorial on How to setup an Ubuntu LAMP Server on a desktop edition.

Once the server is set up, to install Drupal you need to untar the contents of the Latest stable release to your /var/www directory.

There is also a video in the video and slides section which covers installation and getting clean URLs working.
