Advanced configuration

The Markdown Easy module is designed to be configured as securely as possible by default. Advanced configuration of the Markdown Easy module is required to override the default security-related configuration.

General usage

General usage documentation for the Markdown Easy module.

Installation

The Markdown Easy module automatically creates a "Markdown" text format when enabled. Feel free to customize.

Markdown Easy logoThe Markdown Easy module is a lightweight, opinionated, and secure-by-default Markdown processor implemented as a Drupal text filter.

htmLawed filter/purifier

Use htmLawed to restrict and purify HTML for security and compliance with standards and admin policy

The htmLawed module uses the htmLawed PHP library to restrict and purify HTML for security and compliance with web standards and admin policy.

Render Strategy

When configuring the Markdown module settings in Drupal, whether it be the site-wide settings or an individual text format filter setting, there is a section named "Render Strategy" which informs Drupal on which strategy it should use when dealing with user-provided HTML markup.

Operability with the Libraries module

Though the download for the htmLawed module also includes the htmLawed library, one can use the Libraries contributed Drupal module to load the htmLawed library for use by the htmLawed module (in Drupal 7+). This allows for easier, independent maintenance of the htmLawed module and htmLawed library, and also allows for use of the same htmLawed library by modules other than htmLawed.
