I am Micky Metts, a member of Agaric, a worker owned cooperative of web developers. We are five people on three continents that work together remotely to build things. Sometimes I am referred to as an Activist Hacker – Industry Organizer – Public Speaker – Connector – Visionary.
In web development communities, I am also known as FreeScholar. At events around the country, I speak about using free software like Drupal for community building – networking, privacy, encryption, and autonomy. I support and facilitate people in the cooperative movement to learn about the necessity of engaging in the free software movement.
My past experience includes the founding and development of diverse online communities. I have experience working with large and small teams of programmers to create custom applications for large and small companies using FREE software (fsf.org) and platforms for community use. My entrepreneurship has included the invention of Cyber Weddings and Friend Finder in 1996. My interests include Drupal, PHP, Community, FREE SOFTWARE, GNU/Linux, VOIP, VoIPdrupal.
The community has always been important to me and collaborative efforts to make the world better are very inspiring.
My presentations at Drupal and other events in the USA, UK, and Mexico have been on topics including VoIP, Free Software and Cooperative business models and strategies.

My current focus is on Cooperative Business Development, The Free Software Movement, Workers Rights, and Social Justice.
I have built a campaign to cross-pollinate communities - http://www.slideshare.net/DrupalConnection/developer-of-the-minute
I love building sites that can be useful to Drupal developers and beginners.
I also love to facilitate Drupal mentors, tutors and students, by helping them connect with each other and with projects. Agaric hosts a weekly show and tell - http://agaric.com/show
