As title, can we add 'last updated' info to handbook pages? I think it might be useful for users to get a sense of how current/relevant a page is...

Should probably be a feature request against the book.module rather then documentation. Then it could be implemented on all Drupal sites.

Somewhere in the issue queue there was a expose the modified time and author as well as created time and author to node templates, complete with a UI. I don't recall why it was dropped, but I'd definitely be in favor of bringing it up again if I can find it. :-)

Always mark the newer issue a duplicate of the older issue, unless the new issue has something unique the older issue doesn't (like a patch or what have you).

Here's the issue I was referring to: http://drupal.org/node/32036 I suspect it needs to be updated. :-) I am still interested in seeing it go in, though, and it would then offer a solution to all of the issues posted here, I think.
