Sepeck,
There's a sentence in the first paragraph of the Contribute page that seems to be missing two apostrophes. I don't have perms to change this page, so would you hit it for me? Thanks! (apostrophe rules for anyone interested)
"Please check out our projects mission statement and principles so you can direct your efforts effectively and in line with the communities goals."
NEEDS TO BE CHANGED TO:
"Please check out our project's mission statement and principles so you can direct your efforts effectively and in line with the community's goals."

karldied commentedSteve, I'm adding another issue to the same page, and filing this issue here, so that you can re-assign it (if it meets your approval) to "drupal.org webmasters" or "drupal.org infrastructure" as needed.
On: http://drupal.org/contribute (the contribute tab)
1. Change first sentence as described.
2. Under "Documentation" change the link for "Find out how to help with documentation." as follows:
OLD: URL alias: http://drupal.org/contribute/documentation
NEW: alias point to http://drupal.org/node/24572
Comment #2
karldied commented1. Please update the link "Find out how to help with documentation" on http://drupal.org/contribute
- WAS: alias goes to http://drupal.org/contribute/documentation (node number unknown)
- NEW: alias point to /node/24572
- The old page is incomplete, contains wrong information, and bad links.
2. Please update the opening paragraph, second sentence on http://drupal.org/contribute as described earlier:
WAS: Please check out our projects mission statement and principles so you can direct your efforts effectively and in line with the communities goals.
NEW: Please check out our project's mission statement and principles so you can direct your efforts effectively and in line with the community's goals.
3. After doing #1, please delete or unpublish the old page (node number unknown) at http://drupal.org/contribute/documentation
- a. The information at /node/24572 Contributing to doc is much more comprehensive.
- b. Contributing to doc, Joining the doc team, and Documentation issue reports include all of the information of the first paragraph and following 3 bullets (the 3rd bullet is wrong) about joining the doc team.
- c. Paragraph 2 and the next four bullets about links useful to handbook maintainers has been incorporated in /23367, Joining the doc team.
- d. Final paragraph on API moved to /node/24572, Contributing to documentation
NOTE: This change may require site administrator role rather than site maintainer role. If so, please move to Drupal.org infrastructure

sepeck commentedThe aliased /contribute pages are not part of the handbook. I will update appropriate links and content.

karldied commentedRelated issue: Duplicate/conflicting information on contributing to documentation, http://drupal.org/node/110955 This issue points out /contribute/documentation conflicts with the information that it links to in the documentation handbook, and it recommends the page under /contribute should be reworked or replaced with a link to the handbook section. Update #2 of this issue /115088 completely addresses /110955
Although 110955 is older, I'm marking it as duplicate since this issue is already moved over to Drupal.org webmasters, and has a comprehensive update outline.

senpai commentedBumping this for Sepeck. I can't fix it cause it needs an alias change.
perien commentedHi Senpai, this is Kouhai...
just had to do that.
add1sun commentedUpdating title to reflect the real change that still needs to happen here and moving to webmasters queue. Text changes have been done.
We need replace the path for the /contribute/documentation alias from OLD: /node/84268 to the NEW: /node/24572.
Then /node/84268 can be unpublished or deleted.
