I am writing you because fizk (http://drupal.org/user/473174) is offering to maintain the Smiley project (http://drupal.org/project/smileys).
Please reply to http://drupal.org/node/1397854. If you don't reply before two weeks are passed, the project will be passed to fizk.

Have you tested Chi's patch prior to this? Any outstanding issues in it that you're aware of?

I also have my own port which I never published, for I got busy with work.

Since it's likely only going to be about testing/comparing the patch and committing it, I'll finish it.

Hi Gurpartap,

That's very generous of you, but this is more than just
testing/comparing the patch and committing. Someone needs to maintain
the patch, address people's support requests, feature requests, bug
fixes, etc.

Unless you suddenly have a lot of free time for the module, it would
probably be best to give maintainership access to someone who's offering
maintainership, like me.
