Is it possible to incorporate something like Ckeditor link project into the editor, that would be great and very helpful.

Hi, I'm the maintainer of CKEditor Link.
I don't know much about BUEditor, but here is what I can answer:
Despite its name, CKEditor Link does not require CKEditor to be enabled.
This means that it can be used as a base module to support easy linking to internal paths thought any editor, including BUEditor. The only thing that needs to be written is the plugin/client-side part for BUEditor.
