It was originally intended that Acidfree would be able to use the Slideshow or similar module (external). But it appears that maybe it won't work. Maybe someday I can port the slideshow from 4.7 to 5.x.

Or somebody else could do it...

Check on this. AFAIK, AcidFree does a slide show pretty well with lightbox.

I use lightbox2 with acidfree and it works pretty well with two caveats:

1. I would like the slideshow to go through the whole album and not just the current page.
2. support for videos is pretty bad. It displays the whole video node in the lightbox.

I am closing this; I posted this nearly 4 years ago. I've been using Lightbox for a while now and don't even remember how it once was.

I am glad that Acidfree is rejuvenating, although I continue to look for more Drupal ways to do a nice photo gallery. Frankly, the long downtime of Acidfree kept me bound to D5 long after every other module I use on my simple blog and photo show site had gone to 6. That experience has taught to be wary.
