drupal for IT support ticketing system?

Hi
one place i work at is a very large school,
I'm looking for a system which will replace the fault log / book (which often gets lost).
I was thinking an intranet system which allows people to submit support tickets?
Anyone think this would work with drupal? if not then what is good to use?

You could try
You could try http://drupal.org/project/project_issue, which needs the project module also. The latter would probably be largely redundant, but it might be a relatively straightforward solution nonetheless.
Also check out http://drupal.org/project/casetracker and http://drupal.org/project/ticketing, though the latter awaits upgrade to Drupal 5.x. If you don't need it to be part of a Drupal website site then maybe other more relevant solutions exist, such as the PHPHelpDesk app mentioned in the latter.
Also see http://drupal.org/node/113430. By "helpdesk module" I think it is referring to the same Ticketing module.
