Ok, what is DD2.0? A social network for drupal wannabes? A teaching emporium? Something else completely different?
Voice your thoughts. I personally vote for something akin to a social network, but it would have to be carefully built so as not to incorporate cruft. Lots of other posts in here regarding potential features.

brenda003I'm not sure I understand the reasoning behind wanting the dojo site to be like a social network. I'm immediately afraid of the idea because potential separation in the Drupal community should always be done with care. I see the Dojo as a place for people to come and learn, to teach, to help on their paths to Drupal rockstardom.

gusaus commentedThink I somewhat gave my views on what's now I guess the 'newsletter issue -
http://drupal.org/node/206791#comment-680924
Will elaborate shortly, but just wanted to tie in that post...
add1sun commentedI agree with brenda003 and see the Dojo site as basically a place where people can find out about lessons coming up and get all info/materials on past lessons as well as hosting any live sessions that we do. W should also have information and a workflow for people who wish to teach. That's about it on my list. I don't see much need for social features since we already have d.o and g.d.o.
EDIT: In response to Gus' post I would add that I do not see dd.com as needing to keep tabs on the community. That is what the existing sites are for - community. DD.com in my view is just a new tool for lesson creation and delivery that the existing sites are not set up to handle currently.

gusaus commentedAlso might be a good exercise to look at some of the things our Dojo father intended/thought about round this time last year...

Discussing Growth: DrupalDojo.com/net/org? - http://groups.drupal.org/node/2786
There's a LOT of similarity in what we're discussing from Dojo2.0. What's worked? What hasn't worked (that are still good ideas)? How can we effectively move forward and maximize value to the Drupal community?
This issue queue/posting on the Dojo group is another example of how it's hard 'not' to fragment. Should this topic be discussed there also?
dmitrig01 commentedI think it should be a social network for drupal wannabes.
add1sun commented@ gusaus, yeah I honestly feel that this is more meta discussion and that should happen at g.d.o. This is not an "actionable issue" (i.e. a thing to be done) which is largely what I see this queue being used for. It would probably be best to copy this to g.d.o and close this issue.
add1sun commentedI've made a post with my view on this discussion on g.d.o, http://groups.drupal.org/node/8066.
I'm closing this issue so that the discussion can happen there.
gusaus commentedI changed the title and reopened this issue. Why? It's pretty difficult to move forward without having as much of a collective vision as possible. Might be best to 'meta' discuss here
(http://groups.drupal.org/node/8097), but this is a priority action issue.
add1sun commentedI really don't think this is an a discussion for the issue queue, but I don't want to get into a closed/active war. ;-)
add1sun commentedProject is abandoned. Closing all issues.
gusaus commentedDefining the Dojo Project Goals and Desired Outcomes is pretty key to getting this thing going again - we'll keep this issue open until this is solid - http://groups.drupal.org/node/8097
