It would be great if users registering with the site could automatically be subscribed to a default newsletter, without further action on their part.

On my website that's the main reason why users register. And if the process is too complicated (registration for the website, then subscription to the newsletter) they go wrong.

I know this has been discussed elsewhere (including here and here). But I'm not sure if this feature is easily available?

As a non-coder I may well have misunderstood - I see some references to this feature already being available. Am I missing something?
