This is for working out an outline for this section of the new contributing/support handbook section. This bit's a general overview, patches etc. go elsewhere.
# Drupal's work space: the Issue Queue
* Guidelines
* Searching

Comment #1
add1sun commentedShould also add in here how to help keep the queues clean.

catchJust a note that I'm trying to tidy up http://drupal.org/node/10259 a bit - so at least related pages are grouped together. Some stuff will probably need to be moved out of there when this section is up and running. I also started a general guide to reviewing patches: http://drupal.org/node/283840
Comment #3
add1sun commentedmain existing content on the issue queue: http://drupal.org/node/317
That patch review kinds of stuff are over in the Testing section: http://drupal.org/node/240216
Comment #4
add1sun commentedThis also needs an actual overview/conceptual doc written that guides newbies into the concept of it all.
Comment #5
nielsbom commentedChanged the component to reflect the new component categorization. See http://drupal.org/node/301443

add1sun commentedThis is really about moving the http://drupal.org/node/317 section into the new book with the landing page getting a rewrite to make it more introductory and general. The sub pages can take on the details (and need to be consolidated/reorganized). We will need a few more subpages, notably one on how to search the issue queue. The landing page should make note of queues that are "weird", like docs and point to pages that specifically explain them. Docs will definitely have one. If there are others, they may not and will probably need a page added.
So currently:
1. Move http://drupal.org/node/317
2. Rewrite the main page
3. Add a new page on searching the queues
4. Reorganize/rewrite/consolidate the existing subpages

add1sun commentedAlso, link to a video on the issue queue: http://drupal.org/node/273658
Comment #9
add1sun commentedOK, this section is started. I did an initial pass at reorganizing the subpages and added a stub for the search page. Still to do:
1. Rewrite landing page: http://drupal.org/node/317
2. Write search page: http://drupal.org/node/314182
3. Review and refine the other subpages

add1sun commentedchanging title for ongoing work

heather commentedFYI: The issues queue search and 'drop down menu' system is in need of some UI work. It's hard even to explain to people how to filter issues - so what I'm writing here isn't helpful for documentation at all... but anyone working on this documentation will run into some weird behavior of the navigation. Maybe take notes and add
to the issue for this! (there are probably others)
Comment #12
add1sun commentedAlso , I've updated the landing page "stub outline" to include the stuff from #314686: Getting Involved: Cleaning up issue queues
Comment #13
heather commentedI added an introductory section for issues queues newbies.
I don't know how 'little' we can get away with on the issue queue landing page.
http://drupal.org/node/317
It was unavoidable, I touched on just locating a specific issue queue and filtering the list for that queue... though I think there needs to be more detailed search advice on that separate page. If I can get a minute this weekend, I'd be happy to make a little 'how to search' video as recommended here:

arianek commentedCan anyone give a brief overview of the state of affairs on this one before I spend a bunch of time trying to sort out what's done and not? Would be mucho appreciated!
Comment #16
arianek commentedIt looks like http://drupal.org/node/317 and its subpages have had a lot of work since this was last active. I'm going to mark this fixed, if anyone objects, please reopen!
