According to rumor in this thread, it seems that video is mostly abandoned. There seems to be plenty of community interest, but the maintainer seems a little busy. If this is the case, are you planning on adopting another module for video handling? I've heard a few recommendations for http://drupal.org/project/flashvideo, but I don't know much about it.

My main reason for asking, is because I am on a D6 upgrade sprint. I have about 10 modules with no D6 version that I'm going to try and port over. If you're not going to continue to use Video, I won't bother with it. Your module is crucial to my upgrade plans however. How open are you to me doing a temporary port to a 6.x-1.x ver, after which, you could do your complete rewrite to a 6.x-2.x ver?

Video has not been abandoned. I wrote a patch that brings a fair amount of it up to date with D6. It hasn't been committed, but does need testers. See http://drupal.org/node/248117
