Offering $400 for upgrading both these modules to D6.

http://drupal.org/project/paypalnode

http://drupal.org/project/simple_paypal

Requirements:
Ability to select a "Package" to pay for a Node via Paypal which in-turn sends an email regarding the purchase. After X amount of days node becomes unpublished and an email is sent to the node creator informing them of the change of state. This is current out of the box functionality that is available in the Drupal 5 versions for these modules. Developer must work with the issue queue since there is already some work being done to upgrade both modules to D6.

I have a timeline of 3 weeks to get this tested, finished, patched.

Hi ...

just want to make sure if any new feature is required to add to the new versions? OR, just make them work on Drupal 6.x?

good day.

Just upgrades. Possibility of adding new feature of sending an email to the user 7 days before the listing finish (7 being an arbitrary number that can be set in the settings).

looks these 2 modules are NOT working by themselves.

I have no idea how to test them after upgrade ...

what module(s) will depends on these 2 in your project??

OR, any idea I can test them after modified the codes...

I dont like paypal, so I know very little about using paypal ...

bye,

I'm not too sure what you mean. Paypal Node requires Simple Paypal Framework to function. Testing would be done through your local machine and via paypal's developer sandbox. Remember, work done here must be able to be committed back to the community.

testing payment module is time comsuming ..a lot of pre-config (say, pp a/c for buyer and web owner) ...

pp sandbox is slow ...

Maybe you can contact budda for PayPal Node and kbahey for Simple Paypal Framework.
Pehaps they don't want to do this, but i think it is fair to ask the original developers if they would accept some money to upgrade what was made by them.

looking for something like this.

Looking forward :D

Would an increase in the bounty make this a more attractive project? I'm just wondering if it would be worth it to try to get my org to pitch in some. What amount would make it tempting?

I'd be willing to kick in for this as well. Sounds like a lot of people are interested so if someone could name a price we could go from there.

thanks

This could help?

Although didn't actually apply this to the paypal node module as I don't use it.

and paypalnode still hasn't been ported.

So, within an hour of figuring out it's a module I possibly could use. I ported it.

Not sure if it's working yet, I will let you guys know.

keep us posted

Any news on the port?

many thanks

I abandoned using this module, because I determined it actually wasn't what I needed.

I needed a simple way to ad basic papal api functions to node pages (which I realize can obviously be done with php snippet blocks, or a custom node.tpl.php. That's easy.

Anyways, I looked back at what I did, and I found the ported module still there.

See if it works for anyone/everyone:

It still has the 5.x filename, and some of the underpinnings, but functions that were replaced in D6 with updated functions are modified in this module.

I haven't tested it, and to tell you the truth I don't plan on it, since I am not a module dev or maintainer.

See if it works for you though:

Sorry for some reason I can't attach it to this post... something about it being an old post or something. Not sure.

Just came across this, similar module name but presumably different module, and a different developer who is actively updating it regularly and responding to forum requests:

It requires purchase, but looks worth it, and would save paying someone to port or rebuild a module..
