GCG creates one vocabulary per country, and stores all the provinces and cities under it.

When I expose the filter "Taxonomy: Term", it gives me a list of the countries in a drop down box, but after selecting a specific country, HS does not engage.

Is it possible to activate HS so that when selecting a "Taxonomy: Term", it jumps to the next child item?

The only other way to select by countries is to expose every single Taxonomy Vocabulary one by one, which of course is impracticable unless all your addresses are limited to one country.

You have one vocab per country?
That's your problem right there.
You want a taxonomy that actually models the hierarchy you want.
Country - province - region - town

A little SQL surgery will tidy that up for you - or there is a module that supports cross-vocab merges and moves.

dman is absolutely right. This is a problem that must be addressed by GCG, not by HS.
