Hi,

I’m not sure if I’m in the right place, or if I should be posting under the Location module (or somewhere else)

My goal is to have each user be able to input their location via GMAP (this already works on the edit page), and have other users view their location within their profile pages.

What I’ve tried is going under Administer > Panel Pages > User Profile >Edit > Content Tab, hitting the Plus (+) button and adding “Location Map” under “Contributed Modules”, but that doesn’t do the trick.  

One thing that I’m not sure of is if I need to configure the location map? There’s a field for “Map Macro for _______ Profile” Do I need to put in some variable for the user profile there? Is there something else I can do to make this work? Or, am I going about this completely wrong.

This needs to be asked in Location. What you are looking for is panels support in location that uses the user context as an argument. I've updated the title to be clearer since this really has nothing to do with APK.

Submitted a patch for D6 at http://drupal.org/node/424934 . I do not know but it may work on D5.

Same issue on http://drupal.org/node/205811 and http://drupal.org/node/353929
IMO showing the user-location on a map in the user-profile is so obvious that it should be core, there is a lot of people struggling with it, but as far as I have gotten no solution yet.

Not sure how this is done, but if this support request still needs service, please feel free to re-open this and change the version to 7.x-3.x or 6.x-3.x depending on the version you are using. It may also help to post the version of panels being used here.
