Hey guys, I am looking for a gallery solution to replace to solution I currently use. The way I build gallery right now, is that I use Arles to create the gallery and then place it in an iframe to display the gallery in a node. While this help with keeping the loads of Drupal and I can upload using FTP but its not very flexible and there is always a huge gap in the gallery since with iframe you cannot set 100% max height.

The forcast for the content of the site go over 100,000s of thousands of images So am looking for a gallery solution that does the following.

1. able to upload via FTP
2. light weight for performance
3. flexible

Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated!

I would take a look at the http:/drupal.org/project/image module which has a module for image_import and the http://drupal.org/project/imagefield_import module for cck imagefields.

Going the imagefield route will give you maximum flexibility to design galleries with views and a lightbox module (i like lightbox2) if desired. For a good video on how this is done see Creating Multiple Maintainable Image Galleries. It's for earlier versions of the modules, but the concepts are the same.

Another popular option, though i've not tried it, is the http://drupal.org/project/brilliant_gallery module.
