As your previous account was blocked (on your own request), you can not take action. In that case, "[...] your content will be unpublished so that no one will be able to see it [...]".

I've read http://rumors.adaccs.at/node/149, but I see no request from you for further action.

David Naian’s picture

Maybe one Day Drupal.org would provide a dedicated communication line for similar cases like this.
Of course I did not request any action. It's just a metter of fact that I'm not going to be put in the condition to ask
for any action until the action taken by the User Admin in this regards
will be taken under review, for violating the right to communicate with some members of the Doc Team
and inform them about my intention to step back from Site Maintainer role was intended as a violation
of Drupal.org member behavior policy.

I did never see any documentation that inform or warn user on Drupal.org at at the time I signed in as @Wolfflow.
I did never get such a type of public blamage from any one on Drupal.org till this point.

Any question or error that I make during my experience as user, member of the Doc Team and then as Site Maintainer
was allways discussed with me, and I always provided my apologies and learned not to repeat tha same error.

So I am still a Drupal evangelist and still ready to contribute with my knowledge and efforts and dedication
but i will not take further partecipation on a higher role again if the Drupal User Management do not review
this case.

I'm sorry for this situation but I am the right to suppose that I did not merit such a treatement after month of dedicated
and homest contribution to the Forums, to the Handbook and in the issue of user I evaluate that I can help
with my support.

Thanks for your Notification.
Take this answeer as my request so far my no native English was clear enought.
If not I'm always ready to try to clarify better.

Regards @David Naian @Wolfflow
And thanks that you seemed that this issue is fixed without waiting any replay.
Thanks a lot

David Naian’s picture

Oh I just saw that You are the insensitive, and without any kind of experience on communication that
did blame me. That is no wonder that you closed this issue immediately.
But I will continue to pke as far I will do it in a manner that is polite and required
for solving problems and not be distuctive of contributions effort comein from Members that do not
have the english experience and make sometimes expression and form error.

So I will not wonder that you are not able to review your action, this one and the past ones.

Regards again

Dear @Heine

FYI I have the attitude to make copies of almost all I wrote on Drupal.org, just to have the chance to review my own mistakes.
So I do not need to have content meade public on groups.drupal.org I recognize that my level of knowledge and writing skill are
not yet adequate to the level of technical conversation and discussion on that platform. I can just repost what I have posted
and all what other did post in directly relation with suer @Wolfflow or @David Naian on my own Site. You may know that, I'm sure.

Sorry if I bother your precious time and reactivate shortly this issue, but have some few questions:

1. If I ask to reactivate @wolfflow account what will happen to the @David Naian account?
2. Can a user have two accounts on Drupal.org. ?

Regards

michelle’s picture

I don't understand what you're getting upset at Heine about. You created this mess. You were not blocked against your will. You asked to have your account blocked. And then you went and created a new account rather than having your old one reactivated. So now you have a problem where your old account is given a choice to act or not and you don't have that choice because of your own actions.

I don't know if there's a policy against having two accounts so I'll leave that for an admin to answer. But I had to step in and defend Heine. What he did was perfectly acceptable and your calling him "insensitive" is unwarranted.

Michelle

dave reid’s picture

I agree with Michelle, I see no reason for you to get upset at Heine. You created the situation in the first place and could have asked for your original account to be unblocked or changed easily.

David Naian’s picture

Ok, I again will try with my weird and still poor english to clear this state of fact.
First of all I do have always present and keep in mind that I will cause misunderstandings because of my low knowledge of the
english language and not skilled expression faculty to be clear and short with trying to explain what my statements and observation leads to.

1. In the action of @Heine I did only not understand why he did not first contact me and make me aware of my editing fault
before starting to make it so evidently public.

2. Every one of you know my difficulties about my efforts to contribute in this community with my restricted english language.

3. I'm am aware that I have not to aspect that you all find the time to go throughout my weird English, but I do await that for
my long time efforts for collaborating I would receive a piece of more regard.

4. I did not find any similar prominently advice or warnings on any other user like my was.

5. I really have nothing personally against @Heine, he is a prominent security member and I can imagine how huge is the number
of issue he have to do each session of his work on Drupal.org

6. I am a passionate Drupal user, and I have a very positive experience in this community and I also see my progress and I have really the will to learn more and to be better, but if I get so prominently "warned" and in a way blamed is natural to get frustrated.

7. It is for me a priority that all those number of difficulties that arise from the activity a no native english user encounter on Drupal.org could find a better solution.

8. So please try to get a little space of time to consider that in similar cases of blocked accounts a user get an external address so to be able to apply for review. There is no possibility yet configured yet.

9. A user that might have his account blocked (in case of his own request or in case of decision comeing from an User Admin) have only the choice to get a new account and then post an issue or contact directly the User Admin that toke security action.

10. This situation will in any case lead to the fact that inevitable the user involved will have an amount of new issue with the new account and it will be difficolt to follow up his doings and his history of contributions on Drupal.org

So again, this is what I have to report and got in mind at the moment.

Regards

heine’s picture

I made an issue to inform other site maintainers and make my actions known/accountable.

I fail to understand your problem (1+6) when I see you posted #344560: This is not a correct "User Management" issue.

For additional issues, see:

#373304: Blocked softscripts (temporarily?)
#360995: Blocked user aboukam for test-posting
#90469: Blocked theclassicalmommy
#405890: Blocked victoryoverfear for off-topic posts
#288550: Review Quantum Coders (user #339913)
#241170: Warned user jingjang for posting copyrighted content
#304853: Ban usless people who post the same crap to every Paid Drupal services topic
#301986: j.patrick1982 needs an official warning.
#104682: test posting in "showcase"

You urge for a way to allow blocked users to communicate with webmasters. We do, in general, not want to communicate with blocked users. Apart from clear spam, users receive a warning first which gives ample time for discussion. You propose a marginal feature at best; just because something could possibly apply to _your_ situation, does not mean it is important.

Now, onto the nastier part. I've seen you sucking energy from this project the day you started participating on Drupal.org. While I can appreciate your intent, the result is negative. Please stop.

David Naian’s picture

@Heine

A last replay. I am of course intelligent enough to have to accept your judgment and decision and request to stop this kind of efforts on Drupal.org on Drupal.org. I do have the right to continue to put my efforts on my own site http://adaccs.at

It's a matter of fact that Open Source Community use as communication language: English
It's a matter of fact that almost the majority of personnel with high knowledge of the English language will be elected to take the role of User Admin.
It's a matter of fact the Users of Community are coming from any Language actually spoken and written in the world
It's a matter of fact that those user not familiar with the english language will have a greater strength to learn and contribute in those community because they will have to confront themselves with the use of english language.
It's not a matter of fact that in any case the Community Management do have to aspect that user of any kind have knowledge about default and common communication and editing rules and policies knowledge in the field of content management systems.

Therefore it's almost clear to all that Handbooks for Open Source will be provided in english for interested user as to help them to learn, use and implement the open source software.

In addition to that I have the highest respect and gratitude to all volunteer contributors that made every day possible to start to use free of charge open source software to millions of users.

But I do not agree that many user get difficulties in open source community because of lacking of knowledge about the english language and get in trouble with the management of open source community because there is no regards to provide documented section for clear policies about default and common content management rules and policies for avoiding misunderstandings and interminable posting about a case that mostly have not references.

I'm aware that in the open source community there is already plenty communication flow about the open source software and that there is no really time and resources to deal with this apparently marginal aspect of content and user administration, but I'm not ready to accept this state of fact when there is no clear and easy to use communication lines for submitting feedback for blocked or not registered users on Drupal.org

I have noticed already many situations where there is a really an abnormal default conduct and action for dealing and handling with this problems on Drupal.org

Kind Regards and good Eastern holiday to all.

Yes, it is a fact that English is the language on use on drupal.org. It is one of the most commonly spoken languages in the world and probably the most common on the web. That said, there are individual language communities that have sprung up around Drupal. If English is that difficult for you and you don't have anyone that can translate for you, perhaps your efforts would be better placed in a Drupal community for your native language.

As for blocked users, I agree with Heine. A blocked user having a legitimate need to contact us is so rare it's not worth the amount of spam we'd have to deal with to open the contact form up. Perhaps in the redesign they will add Mollom which will make that easier.

Michelle

David Naian’s picture

Dear @Michelle So far I can judge about my own English understandings level I do not have great difficulties to understand what generally is posted in issues or forum and where ever I I go to read on Drupal.org. Maybe you cannot yet remember well due to this account change that it was you the proposed me as Site Maintainer some time ago.

I hardly can imagine that you would propose someone as Site Maintainer on Drupal org if the member did not show at least some evident number of contributions in the Handbook, in the Forum at in some other places.

Do you?

Regards

michelle’s picture

No, I haven't forgotten. That was before you went on this bizarre crusade against the community. You were helping out a lot and looked to be a good candidate to be a maintainer. I was not happy when you turned on us and made me look stupid for recommending you.

Michelle

David Naian’s picture

Dear @Michelle, it was surely not your fault and not my intention to do what you have asserted here:

and made me look stupid for recommending you.

I'm really sorry for that.

There where also others that agreed on my nomination. And I'm sorry that you have not taken in consideration that I myself stepped back and did not continue as @wolfflow without any action from the Drupal.org management.

I did openly admit my weakness and difficulty to express my self in a smoothly manner in English to continue a constructive collaborations. I did not have done any action against you or any other members and I stepped back as it suits to someone that recognize his/her incapability and difficulties to work inside such great dinamic group.

But anyway this all it's really sad and You as many other here do not take this in account.

I will continue to try to support where I can Drupal and members that need a help for using it, despite the fact if they are registered members or any person who visit my site and need some support for it.

Kind Regards

David Naian’s picture

Even if some of you are convinced that I

... went on this bizarre crusade against the community

this is an example of exactly the contrary

Regards

David Naian’s picture

Just to return on topic:

@Michelle, #6

And then you went and created a new account rather than having your old one reactivated.

@Dave Reid #7

You created the situation in the first place and could have asked for your original account to be unblocked or changed easily.

I suppose that your assertion are a bit missunderstood. Maybe I'm wrong but as:

@Heine wrote here: #1

As your previous account was blocked (on your own request), you can not take action.

and it is thrue that i request it. I swore by god.

But what if the user account was blocked not on his request ?

The user have only the choice to make a new accont and then contact the responsable Webmaster and make a review request for his case.

Another question is. All this post will not exist if the blocked user account @wolfflow did not receive after blocking any further emails.

I hope I was clear enought!

I'm so sick of this passive aggressive crap and blaming your bad behavior on language skills. Your english is fine and there are other community members with less english language skills that manage to contribute substantially and positively.

Your problems with the "community" started when you didn't get your way regarding deleting of content on drupal.org. You threw a tantrum, "took up your toys", stormed off, and requested your account be blocked. Then, when no one seemed to give a shit, you came back with a new account. And now once again, here we are having to argue with you when you don't get your way.

drupal.org is a community effort-- you're simply not going to get your way just because you want something or think it's important. it's up to the community, not you. period. get over it.

Heine took exactly the appropriate action, whether or not you agree with it.

If these things are unacceptable to you I suggest you find another community, more in line with your desires and goals, to "help".

In any case, Heine is correct. Please stop this negative energy sucking behavior.

We do, in general, not want to communicate with blocked users.

Enough said.

David Naian’s picture

@WorldFallz,

I'm really happy that other Drupal.org Member toke the time to explain and communicate to me in a polite way.

I can just repeat that this post was just be edited by me (Old post title: Received notification email by groups.drupal.org") because I got a email-communication for my old blocked account. If you have to drammatize more on this, Ok.

Someone else explained to me why this happens and I thank him very much for this. I think in such very little cases to contact user
and explain in a polite way what happen is better than make a pubblic issue for every little crap what may be not conform to
Yours content management policies on Drupal.org. Well confident Drupal.org users and well competent drupal users with a responsability role on Drupal.org should try to avoid this kind of confrontations.

Restored original title as I never asked in this thread for Provide a way for unregistered or blocked users to communicate with webmasters.

I just needed some account clarifications. And because I get contacted by one of the Drupal.org Management Admins and get enought explanations for
what happened this issue is Fixed for me.

@WorldFallz

FYI: If you start to accuse with referencing to action happened in postings, I would suggest you to try to document:

as for your statement:

Your problems with the "community" started when you didn't get your way regarding deleting of content on drupal.org.

this eventually refer to Ask for permission on deleting,

the issue may help to clarify, do you mind?

Sorry David-- unfortunately your participation on drupal.org appears to have degenerated into arguing for arguments sake. It's a shame really, but I'm not sure anything can be done about it now. Especially in light of your posts on the 'dark side' of drupal.org management. Posts like this are a complete waste of time-- at least for me. They serve no useful purpose. They help no users. My free time is both limited and precious to me and I choose to use it to assist users. Good luck to you though.

David Naian’s picture

@WorldFallz - No problem, I'm sorry too.
Thanks for your reply. Sure I understand very good and your time as mine is precious and should not be wasted further on arguing in this generalist way.
I'm also not anymore interested to discuss further as there are no PR and Content Management Improvements coming soon on Drupal.org yet.

So god luck to you too.
