Hello,
Someone who attempted to sign up with my mailing list alerted me to the fact that simplenews is not replacing the variables in the emails it sends. I restored my customized messages to the defaults, and simplenews is still not replacing the !mailto and !site variables with actual information.

steps to reproduce
1. go to www.longdistancevoter.org and sign up for mailing list. you'll receive a confirmation
2. expected outcome: !mailto will be replaced with your email address, and !site will be replaced with url
3. actual outcome: your confirmation email with have !mailto instead of your email address, and it will say !site instead of www.longdistancevoter.org

please advise!

Please look at this: http://drupal.org/node/365507 See if the new variable names as quoted in the second message work for you. For now I mark this as duplicate issue, ok?
