I find it extremely useful to see the most used modules on drupal.org. I think this functionality will also be useful in Plugin Manager.
I'm not sure how to gather the usage data for each module, but it should be looked into.

jabapyth commentedThis would require making changes to the drupal updates repository, which isn't within our jurisdiction. If you would like to spearhead that, we would be glad to add the functionality to Plugin Manager.

Anonymous (not verified) commentedThis feature cannot be added to the 6.1 series at the moment. As Jabapyth pointed out, it would require changing the project release XML. Since the 6.2 series of plugin manager is set to use the search system from Drupal.org, this feature will already be available at its release. If you would like to help the 6.2 series get released sooner, then help out with this patch: #453718: Provide easier access to raw Solr results ;)
