My name is Tom. I have a drupal site and am a writer and publisher. I am currently working on the "Reorganize and slim down the wall-of-text on the project page for the XML Site Map Module" at http://drupal.org/node/451642#comment-1555878.
@ernie one of the maintainers of XML Site Map wanted me to make some changes to pages and to also create a new book page for documenting the 6.x versions of XML Site Map. (see #26 etc). However, it seems I don't have the privileges for certain pages and can only see revisions and current views.
Let me know if you have further questions.

johnnocHi Tom!
Looking into #451642: Reorganize and slim down the wall-of-text on the project page, I do not understand why the handbook page (http://drupal.org/node/266362) is in docs format. There seems to be no reason for it to be locked. I changed the format to "filtered html" so you can edit the page now. Are there other pages you need to work on that you cannot edit? We can also change the format of pages with images to filtered html temporarily while you're working on them.
IMHO, it is not necessary to be a Docs Admin to accomplish the present task. The docs maintainer role is not so different from the Documentation Team, which you are already a part of (since you have edited a handbook page). Being a documentation admin is an extra commitment. If you would like to be more involved with policy and organizational issues effecting Drupal documentation, incorporating comments, helping in cleaning up the docs issue queue, etc., then we would love to hear about it :-)

Thomasr976 commentedHi John
Thanks for getting back to me. If I don't have to be an Admin that would be better. However, I just clicked on the pages I need to work on and I was not able to edit all of them. All I could see was the revised version and the current view. Here are the pages:
Installing XML Sitemap
Setting up your site map
Adding menu items to your site map
Adding menu items in previous versions
Including views
Adding nodes to your site map
Creating specialized site maps with Views
Including node file attachments
Adding taxonomy terms to your site map
Adding user profiles to your site map
Submitting your site map to search engines
Maybe I am missing something so please let me know how to proceed. Perhaps after I get through the XML SiteMap project I'll entertain making a greater commitment.

webchickI checked with add1sun and she said this was cool. There's really no other recourse for someone who wants to edit pages with images on them.
Welcome to the docs team, Thomas! :) Hope to see you help out in other areas too!
