I received this error on the May 16 Dev version, I just installed 6.x-2.2, same error. I get it when I update an already existing node (without a repeat date), nodes with repeating date, and creating a new node with a date. In addition, it appears that all the date-repeat options within a node are missing.

Just to be sure, I reinstalled both date and calendar, 6.x-2.x-dev. Error continues.

However...I went to the two CCK fields that utilize the date_repeat function, and simply resaved the fields. The error is now gone. Go figure.
