Stop duplicating effort

As a potential user for all these modules, I would love to see some collaboration among developers. What is happening is the dashboard module is not getting help it needs so it is getting delayed. And seeing it get delayed other developers are coming up with their own modules. I don;t know why they are not collaborating but I am thinking perhaps because they are afraid even with colloboration they won't get what they need in the timeframe they wanted. So if you can colloraborate it will help all of us as community.

I would argue there is a need for some clear communication on mysite project page that although it is not getting upgraded to 6.x in the current name, dashboard module is its successor and being actively worked on and need help. I have seen some messages because some developer thought since mysite is not getting upgraded they need to do something and rolled out their own solution.

We definitely need collaboration on this, not competition; it's confusing enough for those of us who already know Drupal. What's it going to do to those new to our community?

noting all the related projects i could find for a comparison:
* Total Admin Control - allows creating multiple dashboards, with a set of conditions and content/blocks/views/cck fields/widgets. very complex because it's based on Chaos Tools
* Homebox - allows creating multiple dashboards with blocks and views blocks
* Dashboard allows creating multiple dashboards (but not per account) for admins to use, containing blocks (very buggy)
* User Dashboard - allows creating a dashboard with limited options
* Dashboard for users - allows creating dashboards per user, using blocks (couldn't get it to work)
