Hello one and all. My name's Larry McArthur and I'm fairly a new user with Drupal (I'm in love with it though!).

I'm presently on a project to build/design a social networking site for a college. At my current stage of development, I have chosen a good theme to use (the acquia theme) and I've implemented some basic modules including some of the modules for social networking that I found on this drupal site. But friends, pardon me when I say that I am not satisfied with the outcome and feel of the site.

I was sort of wanted it to be like facebook, or at least, clone it by 60% - 80%.

Friends, what specific modules will you advice me to install to get closer to my goals? Are there any other free resources you could recommend for me on this project?

Instead of the wide open statement that you would like your own FaceBook. How about some info on which of the features are of most importance to you. Otherwise someone might spend time writing up a detailed explanation of how to create one of the features that you don't care about, or miss telling you that one of the ones you want the most is a simple module install.

Remember, the more you tell us about what you want to do, the better we can help.

Think about the following modules. Flag, activitystream, 5star
