Copied from (http://drupal.org/node/267780). I posted it there originally but did not get much response. I figured it would be best to mention it on the project page.

I am looking for an escrow service too, something in-house, not an integration with another company that specializes escrow.

I'd like this implemented in or compatible with Ubercart Marketplace 6x. In the marketplace application, I would like the "escrow service" to be a service provided by the marketplace website, not necessarily a "escrow user" per se where there can be multiples.

If only a "escrow user" can be created, I am guessing you could create additional user permissions that allow accepting of payments, display/send of payment amounts/receipts/alerts to related parties, and then release of funds to seller upon authorization from buyer.

The escrow module should/would affect the product sale page, payment page, seller's profile and buyer's profile.

This is what I would like to see in a marketplace application:

--> On the product page there will be an option to "Pay by Escrow." Whether this option is displayed is optional (seller's choice)

--> Upon a buyer selecting the option, payment to the escrow service is done via any readily accepted means - CC, PayPal, GoogleCheckOut etc.

--> Upon payment, both parties (buyer and seller) are sent an alert/receipt saying payment has been made to the escrow service.

--> Either involved party can view the payment receipt within the escrow service's "profile."

--> Upon the buyer receiving the item etc., an option within the buyer's account will be available "Authorize Release of Funds to Seller"

--> After clicking said option, the funds will be released and an alert receipt will be sent to both parties.

It may be beneficial for other users, for the "escrow service" to be able to deduct a percentage or fixed fee per escrow transaction (paid escrow service).

Thanks

This my first feature request. I am not too sure with the intricacies with the process. Apologies if I have done something against protocol.

That's great news. I think they may be incorporating it in this (http://drupal.org/node/743708) too.

Any development on this feature? I'm looking to do the exact same thing.

Not that I know of. Try requesting here http://drupal.org/node/1232250 as an alternative option
