Anybody else had problems with Views Accordion in AdaptiveTheme?
I thought I'd ask here first before starting to dig into the problem.

Jeff Burnz commentedIts the views-view-fields.tpl.php file in AT which omits some classes and parts of class names.
Copy the Views modules default views-view-fields.tpl.php and rename it using the suggestions in Views theme information, then add that to your subtheme it will work.

andybaker commentedBrilliant. Many thanks Jeff. Works a treat :-)

Jeff Burnz commentedAndy, I'm leaving this open for now, to remind me to think about this more deeply, about how I am modifying this template and if its really worth it.
andybaker commentedSure. Might be teaching my grandmother to suck eggs, but I think it's worth bearing in mind the hooha about the numerous jQuery based modules, how they implement plugins and the general library debate. Certainly not worth jumping into any changes just for views accordion.
Jeff Burnz commentedYes, thats totally is, the modules that need this markup and then don't have it creates problems for themers who don't understand why this or that is not working.
Its a tough one, right from the start AT was meant to be a "high threshold" type of theme, meaning it made demands on the themer that less complex themes do not - the flip side of that is that it was also a way of giving lower skilled themers a way of having a CSS only theme and with nice clean markup and at the same didnt break too many things (not easy I can tell you).
Its a balancing act, and 9/10 I don't want to compromise the purpose and vision of the theme. Its a hard call.

andybaker commentedI'd make that 10/10.... stick with the philosophy and avoid the bloat. It's well structured and documented and I would have figured out the problem PDQ if I hadn't been so lazy '-)
Slightly off on a tangent I see more and more tpl files appearing in AT which I guess bring a similar dilemma as and when the default module tpls get updated offering more options to contrib modules to hook onto. Hmm. A tricky one indeed.

Jeff Burnz commentedCleaning up the issue queue.

Katrina B commentedAnyone encounter a case in which this solution doesn't work? I tried copying the Views template into my subtheme "templates" folder, where I renamed the template; in the View, it picks up the correct template. However, I still have no Views Accordion on the page in question. I cleared caches, too. Any thoughts? Suggestions? Ideas?
salvi commentedI also copied the views-view-fields.tpl.php template and re-named it to views-accordion.tpl.php and put it under the "templates" folder under my sub-theme.
Was this the right naming convention?
Anyhow, it didn't work.
I realize this was a solution meant for drupal 6 users. Is there another solution for drupal 7?
Thanks.

Jeff Burnz commentedI tested with AT7 3.x and it worked strait off - this is because AT6 is way different whereas AT7 preserves all classes for Views and does not try to do anything tricky.
So for AT 7.x-3.x you do nothing, no extra template required, just turn the module on and configure your view. I had this working in 2 minutes.
Remember, the early posts in this thread are very old, 2010 guys, times have changed so you can't take those as relevant advice unless you're using AT6.

dianacastillo commentedI have AT 7x.3.x and the accordion doesnt work for me at all.
Jeff Burnz commentedI dont know how many times I have to test this and tell people if works JUST FINE.
For gods sake stop looking at the theme and perhaps your own settings.
dianacastillo commentedHi jeff, what do you mean by the settings, which settings are you refering to? can you give me a hint please? thanks
Comment #14
Jeff Burnz commentedThis does not need work.
dianacastillo commentedThat's what I love about some of the people in this community they are so helpful! You seem to know the answer Jeff, cant you answer me without closing the issue. If I had the answer I wouldnt have opened it.
dianacastillo commentedor perhaps I am wrong. If so I apologize. Just please send me a message and tell me what settings I should change if you know, and if not tell me that you dont know. thank you.
Jeff Burnz commentedAgain, this is closed fixed, there is no issue with the theme that I have experienced recently, or that I am aware of. If a developer has a specific code issue please open a new issue focusing on that particular code issue. I have used Views Accordion a number of times and have had no issues at all, it just works very well.
If you are having issue with Views Accordion I suggest asking in that modules issue queue.
