Bio

I was once asked to describe who I am without relying on the usual crutches - where I'm from, what I do, what I like, etc. I'm not sure I ever really fully accomplished it but I'll make an attempt to do so now.

I am thoughtful and introverted. When I want to be, I can be quite an extrovert. I find my self constantly amused and intrigued by the world around me. I am intensely inquisitive - I never stopped asking why.

I am creative. My mind never stops wandering; I'm always coming up with new ideas or polishing old ones. I am something of a dreamer. I love the realm of big ideas; I'm always thinking of ways to inspire people towards my ultimate goal of leaving the world a better place than I found it.

I am a Jeffersonian at heart; I believe that people are inherently good, and we must only seek ways to draw out the greatness already present in them. I believe in the idea of government as a tool to accomplish this. I believe strongly in the power of a few committed individuals to change the world.

I am adventurous. My insatiable curiosity drives me to seek out new and interesting experiences. I will try nearly anything once, so long as it's not unreasonably risky. I become restless and bored easily. I have to keep myself busy, either creating, writing, reading, or just meeting people.

Of course, the standard facts are still relevant. I was born in Racine, Wisconsin on November 11th, 1978. My parents moved us back to Illinois when I was four years old and I grew up in Lindenhurst and Antioch. I went to Warren Township High School in Gurnee, IL.

After I graduated from high school I moved with my dad to Virginia Beach, VA. It was there that I came out and met my ex. He and I were together for four and half wonderful years, but I gradually grew more and more restless and realized I needed a change. I now live in Washington, DC, having combined to of my loves - politics and graphic design - into one great job that I wouldn't trade for anything.

In my spare time, I like to shoot pool, create 3D art (using Caligari trueSpace), read, write, listen to music. I love reading books or watching movies that make me think. My favorite movie is Schindler's List. I've seen it and read the book three times each. I am very interested in architecture and am a huge fan of Frank Lloyd Wright. I own twenty-five books about Wright and his architecture and have seen at least two dozen of his buildings around the country.

I find more and more over time that I have to be with someone who makes me think, who challenges my worldview and stretches the limits of my imagination. Obviously I want someone who's good looking, but if they don't have a brain in their head, they're really not even worth talking to. I can't stand shallowness and superficiality. There are far too many amazing meaningful things going on in this world to waste your time talking about the latest reality show or who did what to who at the bar last night.

I need someone who understands and appreciates my inner compass, my whole reason for being here, the things that get me up in the morning. All of my beliefs are rooted in the idea that we borrow this world from the next generation and it is our obligation to ensure that we hand it off to them in better shape than it was handed to us. I believe very strongly in protecting the rights of individuals, seeking peaceful and mutually beneficial solutions to conflicts, cleaning up the meses we create and trying not to create them in the first place, and trying to be constructive in all our endeavors.

If there is such a thing as a soul, I think mine could be found somewhere in those words. My basic nature is in there somewhere. I hope you'll find it interesting and want to learn more.
