1. This module is awesome!
  2. Well done
  3. Think we should change the namespace to "conditional fields" and take the Conditional Fields module for Drupal 7? Having a bunch of different modules doing the same thing across Drupal versions is kind of annoying
  4. You rock!
  5. Does kkaefer know about this?

+1 for this being the Conditional Fields module for D7!

peem83 has been waiting for his project application to get approved for ages:
Formerly: #1025338: [D7] Field Conditional State
Now: #1074342: [D7] Field conditional state

Any chance that now he has the attention of two Drupal gurus this could be helped along?

*fingers-crossed*

Well a new project application and a co-maintainer application are two different things. I'd like to see peem83 reach out to http://drupal.org/project/conditional_fields to see if the code would fit for a 7.x version and then he could help co-maintain the module.

Aye, I understand. Either way I'm just happy this will finally see some progress :)
Peem83 certainly posted about his work in a conditional fields issue but I am unaware of whether any talk of co-maintaining has taken place.

Here's an attempt at a patch to rename to conditional_fields.module. Renamed the files, went through the functions, etc.

Subscribing... I'd just like to see something happen here before peem83 gets too frustrated by the delay. Perhaps approve the project application and then work on coordinating a merging with Conditional Fields?

Right now I'm busy with improving the code for field conditional state and fixing some known issues. When the code will be ready I will try to contact peterpoe - Conditional Fields maintainer and we will see what can be done.

I really like this module! I was used to conditional fields in D6 which was more detailed interface-wise but the function is there and works fine apparently.

It will need a documentation or a Readme once released, as it was not obvious to me first time. It took me 1 minute to figure out that there was a new tab in field edit for conditional states.
And 5 minutes to get that I had to create either a boolean or a list field to control it (untill then I was stuck with the "No control field to select !" message). I know this was obvious but I'm a bit unaprehensive...

Hi peem83,
if I haven't misunderstood the words of Rob Loach and Dave Reid, "field conditional state" could become the "conditional fields" for D7 without major effort, only changing the namespace.

Your futher plans, improvements and efforts don't change at all... if not that you become a mantainer of D7 branch of "conditional fields" instead of "field conditional state".

P.S. this issues don't have resonance... I have subscribed entirely your sandbox, so I've read that, but other people expect your response on #1074342: [D7] Field conditional state

good job peem83

robertom.

It seems to me that peterpoe isn't that active on the conditional_fields module anymore. The last response from him in the thread about porting to D7 is over a year old :S

How well is the Drupal 7 code for Conditional Fields module working now? I see there hasn't been even an unstable release rolled yet.

Is renaming this module still relevant? If so, here's a rerolled patch against 7.x-1.0 (which is currently HEAD).

This is a patch in two parts: the first just renames the files, the second makes the code level changes. That way it's much more possible to review the changes.

The module renamed as Conditional Fields works for me.

At present Conditional Fields has a D7 release. I don't think there's going to happen a merge between both projects in a short term. In any case that's a different issue.
